How is it you can never hear a song in your life, then when it reminds you of people you don't want to think about... then they're everywhere.

Hmmm, someone today summed up in three words why I'm worried about my friendships here at uni. They were talking about something, coats actually, and about how they could all get the same coat. When I mentioned that although I wasn't wearing it I also had one the same their response was...

"You don't count."

Why? Because, as someone once said, I have my reproductive organs on the inside?

Marvellous.

I;m feeling all at sea now that I'm not at school and don't have to set personal targets any more ;-) yeah right...
But I've been thinking about things I'd like to do before I die, and here they are:

Stand on the peak of Mt Ngarahoe so that I can finally have made the Tongariro Crossing.
See Forrest Gump - because I haven't, and everyone says I should.
Ride a horse along a beach as the sun sets (the fact I have limited riding ability is but a minor technicality)
Kiss in the rain (well it looks good in movies :D and there's plenty of rain)
Visit Machu Pichu
Play saxaphone competently in a band
Scuba dive the Barrier Reef
Visit the Galapagos Islands
Have a pint with Oliver
Watch an All Blacks game, live in NZ
Have a proper snowball fight
Learn to surf
Go to a proper gig
Get an orginal story published
Go on a road trip with friends
Play at least one tune on the piano competantly
Learn to sign
Grow my nails!
Watch whales
Visit Russia
Expand my DVD, CD and book collection, and watch, read or listen to all the things in it.

There are lots of others that I can't think of right now... but I look very adventurous, eh?

I only ever write here when i have stuff i find it hard to talk about and today is unfortunately no exception. I'm unsure where I stand with someone which is ever a frustrating situation to be in. At times I just wonder if they want my company or if they put up with me because I'm around...

I don't even know how you approach something like that because, well lets face it, my slightly yorkshire tendency to blurt things out bluntly (be they good or bad) does me absolutely no favours. Because I tend to talk and say words and then realise the person I'm saying the words to either doesn't understand or does not want to know and I should have kept the feelings (be they good or bad) in my head.

Yes, I am aware I'm not making much with the sense.

I know...crazy eh? But its true, I hate the thought of this weekend to the point where I'm sat crying about it. Everyone I know has somewhere to go, or someone to be with, and I'm stuck here on my own with no plans and no one to spend time with... Right now I just want to go home.

Its come to my attention that I should stop writing journal entries late at night. Partly because I should be sleeping and partly because I think too much at night.

I joined the Navy unit today, although already I can see its going to make life hectic and complicated.

Its gonna be good to meet more people though, I really need to start hanging around with people on my corridor a bit too since I barely know some of them - the downside to being hidden away around a corner. Oh well, Al is going home this weekend and the other lads will be playing Black and White so that might give me a chance to meet some more people. I sometimes wonder if I should have done things differently here. But I don't know how... other than maybe spend less time initially with a person who now makes me want to tear him limb from limb on far to regular a basis to be helpful...

Oh well, I'm happy enough and retrospection never helped anyone. just need to look forward and just keep swimming.

Metaphorically of course.

Its been a weird as day. I went to give blood today and for one thing it really hurt... and I nearly fainted. But I'm also really tired and miserable and I've got things on my mind that...I don't know really what to do about. Its all so complicated and no one is coming along to make it all nice and easy for me.

And on top of all that my degree is crazy difficult and I don't know if I'm going to be able to hack it...

Oh I'm just whinging now. Oh well at least I can have a big strop on here and sit in my room and listen to miserable music.

I'll be chirpier tomorrow.

Well here I am writing a proper journal entry because Al asked me to despite the fact that he then promised to never read it. I'm not sure what it says about me that I'm sat now writing this...

Well anyway, writing it I am. I'm sat at home now, I've abandoned uni for the weekend because everyone else was going home so I thought I'd go too. Its quite weird to be back actually, my little brother is away (with the fairies :-) ) so its all very quiet and I confess that there would be more going on at uni *shock horror* could it be I'm missing it already?? Surely not!

Medics ball is now approacing rapidly so we have to sort out groups of attending people on Sunday night when everyone is back. I really want to go but I'm not sure if the guys do or not. I get on really well with the boys at Uni but I can't help wishing I knew more of the girls. The ones on my corridor seem really nice but I hardly see them hidden away in the corner as I am. I'm definately going to make an effort to spend more time with Emma my next door neighbour and some of the girls in my tutor group and stuff...

I'm not too sure what else to write here and now... prying eyes might be reading!
